Description

This is a free typeface, based on contemporary sans-serifs and numerous old and new oldstyle faces.

This attempts to capture the ultimate legibility that Adrian Frutiger, Luc(as) de Groot, Charles Bigelow and Kris Holmes were attempting. These typefaces have a large x-height and follow Gerard Unger's theory that legibility is based on the top half of the text.

This also attempts to capture Palatino and Goudy's roughness and the varying stress of Kis typeface and Caslon in a sans-serif without calligraphy as basis.

Along the way, the designer found a way to fulfill the goals above in making the forms different from each other.

Nevertheless, it is a balance between the Roman proportions Eric Gill's Gill Sans and Paul Renner's Futura have while adding the quirky proportions in Evert Bloemsma's Balance.

This typeface is constructed, starting from the sans-serif, in this case, attempting to disprove the construction theory "serif typefaces must be constructed first before sans-serifs," like Antonio Cavedoni's typeface Enquire did.

This typeface is compatible for Windows.

The typeface classification is a Humanist sans-serif.
The lighter color and higher differentiation of forms gives it a more open and friendlier feel than most popular grotesk fonts (e.g. Helvetica, Haas Unica, Univers, Akkurat).

Pairs well with any of the following:
Jenson,
Caslon,
Garamond,
Goudy,
Kis,
Apolline,
Jannon,
Any Venetian/Garalde, and
Transitionals with predominantly Oldstyle features like Life (or Starling), Fournier or Electra.

If you want to pair it with:
Walbaum,
Baskerville,
New Caledonia,
Romain du Roi,
Bodoni,
most transitional typefaces, and
any Didone, Scotch Roman or Fatface,
proceed with extra caution.

Terrible presentation but the fonts are beautiful! Very elegant yet strong — just like Frutiger.
