Mason Jar Study, 2015-12-21 by rafa6222
Mason Jar Study, 2015-12-21
In Maginhawa Street, in Quezon City, there are parts of that area where the establishments are littered with restos, some fine, some plain casual and some bordering on the hipsterish (and not wanting to admit it! :) oh well.).  One of these is the Burger Project.  I took an order of a set of hamburger and french fries of my preference, along with the iced tea.  One of the things that I notice in these establishments is how they use their tableware.  Wow! They serve their iced tea using a mason jar.  Looks rugged, convenient, and unconventional, except for one thing: the screw path from the jar mouth is blocking parts of my lips!  With that, I was wondering if I could break parts of the path to give a better user experience.  Haven't fabricated this, and it would be a good idea to show me that it's possible to fabricate and market.  This is just a suggestion on how to redesign a mason jar.

Dialogue With Alfredo J Luz in IRRI, 2016-08-04 by rafa6222
Dialogue With Alfredo J Luz in IRRI, 2016-08-04
Today, as I went to the IRRI Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines, I visited the rice museum exhibit, feeling partially satisfied with the way they show the numerous ways rice can survive and has adapted to humans.  The whole area evokes the 1960's architectural trends, reminding me of the way architects conceptualize.
After that, I went to the café inside the research center complex.  I saw the ghost of Alfredo J. Luz.  I ordered an iced café americano and a crispy waffle sandwich filled with caramel.  He didn't give much of an intimidating vibe, instead, he was there, admiring his work when he was still alive.

"Use the paper napkins you got from the cashiers and baristas," he mouthed.
As I was taking time to taste the combination of the waffles and coffee, along with reading the newspapers, he started observing everybody in the entire room
.  After browsing the newspapers dated yesterday and today, I realized that I nibbled the whole round wafer away, along with the iced coffee.  Trying not to look awkward, I started letting my hands, pen and paper napkin do the talking.  When the items inside the rice museum exhibit flashed back, I saw patterns from the whole design.

When he saw the two sketches, he asked me, "Now, what do you see there, young man?"  I just continued doing my thing.  "Add labels to the drawings, just at the bottom right area, close to your signature and documentation information.  After that, find it out for yourself."
After my hands did the sketch, I found the answer that he wanted.  With that, his face changed into someone who looked satisfied, fading away into thin air.

(Disclaimer: Do you think that I really believe in ghosts?)
